Double Whammy Weekend 2025 Raises Over £5,000!
Huge congratulations and thank you to our incredible Double Whammy Weekend superheroes who traded their capes for either harnesses or parachutes, taking on one of two adrenaline-filled challenges between them over Father’s Day weekend - leaping 15,000ft out of a plane and stepping 100m over Portsmouth to abseil down the iconic Spinnaker Tower!
Our fantastic team of fundraisers, made up of Rose Road staff, parents, and supporters, have already raised over £5,000, with more donations still coming in - all to support disabled children and young people who use our services. We’re so proud of every single one of you!
Skydiving Superstars
On Saturday, Emma, Frazer, Phoebe, Toni, and Sophie took to the skies for a 10,000ft freefall skydive – raising a brilliant £2,965 so far! The team soared from new heights and pushed the limits of bravery, all in the name of Rose Road and funding opportunities for young people with disabilities to push their own limits. Amazing Abseilers
Sunday saw another team of thrill-seekers step out 100m above the ground to take on the Spinnaker Tower abseil, raising an incredible £2,374. Huge thanks to Hannah, Ben, Peter, Rose Road staff Zoe and Polly, Lara from Sandison Pay, and the unstoppable Toni – who completed both challenges in just two days!
The Ultimate Double Whammy Hero
Embodying the true spirit of Double Whammy Weekend, Toni took on both challenges in one weekend. Toni shared her heartfelt story about her daughter Jamey-Lee, who attends overnight respite at Rose Road, and why she took on this epic challenge. “I call you all my heroes,” she said, as she joined our Double Whammy Weekend to give back to a service that means so much to her family.
