Fundraisers go the extra mile in 2025!
From marathons to mountains, and cycles to skydives, fundraisers in the local community have truly pushed their limits to raise funds for Rose Road in 2025 - all in support of children and young people with disabilities and their families.

Every challenge taken on for us has made a huge difference. Our fantastic team of fundraisers and their supporters have raised over £14,300 by choosing to use their place in an event to fundraise for us; running, cycling and swimming a combined distance of over 2750km!
We’re so proud of every single person who has taken on a personal challenge for Rose Road this year - your bravery and determination are inspiring to us all!
Below, we’re celebrating just a few of the fantastic feats our supporters have achieved this year by taking on a challenge of their own, independent to the events we offer places in.
A huge thank you to Robert Craig who took part in the 100km trail run Race to The Stones this summer, the UK’s biggest Ultramarathon journeying through ancient landscapes, raising £2858 for Rose Road and the families we support.

Graham and Natalie Carr have taken on 12 immensely demanding challenges in 12 months, pushing themselves to the limits to “bring joy and adventure to children who need it most”. Through their incredible year-long challenge, Natalie and Graham have cycled over 1500km. Ran 100km+, trekked 25km, swam 2km and even Kayaked 2km! Their incredible efforts have raised £1107 for Rose Road, which will provide countless fun activities, play sessions and short breaks for families.
Congratulations to Charlotte Tulley who took on the London to Brighton 55-mile cycle ride, raising an amazing £220 that will make a big difference to the lives of the young people we support.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Carla Staddon, who works for Rose Road and took on a 15km Tough Mudder this year! By taking on an incredible feat of physical endurance and tackling the challenging obstacle course, Carla raised £306!
Freya Richardson, whose sister has been supported by Rose Road, took on the Brighton Marathon earlier this year, raising an amazing £330 for Rose Road! Freya says: "We were fortunate enough to be able to welcome Rose Road into our home to provide some respite to my parents. They engaged in activities at home and frequently took my sister out on day trips with and without the family. They fostered interpersonal skills and independence whilst also giving the rest of the family time together without an additional caring responsibility or just to rest. They are compassionate, genuinely interested and incredibly supportive".

Tabitha Burbidge has supported Rose Road through fundraising since they were six years old! This September, they took on the beautiful scenery of the New Forest Half Marathon, raising £837 that will mean the world to the families Rose Road supports.

Long-standing Ambassador and volunteer at Rose Road, Bruce Elkins , has taken on two amazing events in the last year. Team Rose Roadies raised £2350 by cycling 517 miles from Caen to Beaune. If this wasn’t enough Bruce, alongside Peter Harding, Darren Fulford and Russell Smart, then took back to the bikes to re-enact the Totton triathlon, which was the first fundraising event Bruce took part in back in 1991. The triathlon raised £4381 to go towards helping disabled young people enjoy thrilling days out on WetWheels accessible boat trips!

A huge well done to Savannah, Zoe and Emily and their team of supporters from Hays Travel Southampton, who ran Southampton 10k and raised over £590 for Rose Road! The rest of the Hays Travel team who collected for the charity on the day by running a cake and sweet stall.

Thank you so much to Gerry Scanlon, father of Rose Road Respite Support Workers Emily and Eleanor, who took on a skydive for Rose Road back in April and raised an amazing £560! Jumping 10,000ft is no mean feat, we salute your bravery!

A huge final thank you to everyone who took on a challenge this year, and to all those who donated or cheered from the sidelines! You’re helping to fund vital support for families across Hampshire as well as incredible, confidence-boosting experiences for disabled young people.
