Meet the Fundraising Team

Joe Glancy – Assistant Community Fundraiser

My role at Rose Road is to spread news regarding the fantastic work the charity does and to help get people involved. I contribute to the cause by giving talks, assisting with the organisation of events, and through the production of leaflets and posters for upcoming events, with my main objective being to spread the message as far as possible.

I have a degree in International Relations and previous experience both working and volunteering for fundraising and events teams. It has always been my ambition to work in an environment where I get to help people in need, meet amazing people and do interesting things.

Kim Barton-Smith - Senior Community Fundraiser

My role is to raise awareness of the fantastic work Rose Road does, as well as encouraging the local and wider community to fundraise for us.  Whether it’s organising your own event, taking on a 'once-in-a-lifetime' challenge or having one of our collection boxes on display, I am on hand to help our supporters raise as much as possible for us.

I have a degree in Events Management and have worked for several charities as a Community and Events Fundraiser over the past few years.  I love working in Community Fundraising, I get to meet some really kind hearted people and no two days are the same - one day I will be presenting to a WI group or Rotary Club, the next I will be dressed as a Disney Princess for a supporter’s fundraising event.

Chloe Atkins - Head of Fundraising

I manage Rose Road’s Fundraising team, I’m lucky enough to be supported by a great team of staff and community volunteers. Please do make contact if you’re interested in hearing more about the work we do at the Rose Road Association and how you can support us.

Before coming to Rose Road I worked for a national children’s charity, and previous to that I provided fundraising advice and support to local authorities in the UK and Ghana. I’m a full Member of the Institute of Fundraising (MInstF). I have a degree in Environmental Science but my passion is for supporting organisations that improve children and young people’s lives.

My free time is spent with my family anywhere outdoors.

George McMenemy - Events and Design Assistant (Volunteer)

My role here at Rose Road is to assist the fundraising team in delivering key and large scale events and raising the profile of the charity.

Another aspect of my role which is particularly important to me is the opportunity to help design and create a series of initiatives as a lasting legacy in memory of my late Mum, who was a great supporter of the charity and very sadly left us last year. This includes designing and implementing a ‘tree of life’ art installation to honour not only my Mum but all volunteers, workers and service users who have passed away or left the association. I hope this project will act as a signifying and poignant display to show that it’s the people who really make Rose Road what it is.

Outside of work, I am on a gap year before embarking on continuing my studies in politics at Sussex University in September. I am a self-confessed political geek, which comes in handy with the other aspect of my role here, which entails looking through government policy to see what affects the charity. I am football, cricket and darts mad and am known to be pretty quirky with equally eccentric dance moves, especially when some big 80s classic come on!
