Wendy Doherty, one of our amazing Activity Scheme Support Workers, along with her husband Damian, has arranged her own mini triathlon challenge in aid of Rose Road to mark her 60th birthday, and has raised over £2,600!

When talking about her motivations behind the event Wendy says, "On reaching 60 I wanted to do something impactful and give back to an organisation that gives so much to me. So I brought friends and family together to take on a mini triathlon to raise money for Rose Road."

So, on Saturday 21st July 2023, despite the incredibly wet weather, 35 participants including some Rose Road colleagues, came together in positive spirits to take part, and together ran a combined total of 105km, cycled 350km and swam 7km.

Wendy, who also took part, continues, "Working with such passionate, caring, fun staff, who give the wonderful young people we are privileged to care for a safe space in which they can grow, play, and feel happy, makes for a fulfilling way for me to spend my time. I'm so proud of everyone who took part and to all the generous people who have made a donation, for raising such a fantastic amount that will help us keep doing the job we love so much. Everyone had so much fun and all came together to support Rose Road despite the weather, it was wonderful to see".
