Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph!
Imagine being able to do this whilst harnessed to a professional freefall parachute instructor and at the same time being able to help The Rose Road Association reach their Advent Appeal target! The appeal aims to raise £25,000 to purchase a specially adapted people carrier which will be used to safely transport young disabled people and their carers.
Don’t worry if you have never done this sort of thing before, my colleagues and I in the fundraising team are on hand to provide support and advice to help with ideas to reach your fundraising target.
Alternatively if the skydive isn’t for you then you can still help!
I have decided to go one step further and do a SOLO Accelerated Freefall jump! This means that when I jump out of the plane at 10,000 feet and freefall at 120mph I will not have the advantage of being harnessed to an instructor. This will be the biggest personal challenge I have ever faced and I would like to raise as much money for the Change My Life Appeal as I can. If you are unable to jump for any reason please support me by visiting www.justgiving.com/emmagoessolo and sponsoring me.
If you are interested in jumping please contact me, either by email emmadeabill (at) roseroad.org.uk or on 023 8072 1203.
