Parent Information
Parent Voice
Do you need to find out about a local group? Have you got an event happening that you want other parents to know about? Do you want to 'chat' to other parents in a similar situation?
The Rose Road Association has been involved in setting up a new website for parents and carers of disabled children living in Hampshire and Southampton.
Parentvoice.info provides information and support for the parents and carers of disabled children in Hampshire, helping you to engage, debate and inform local services for your child. You can also meet other parents and contact local groups to share ideas and support one another. Please visit www.parentvoice.info for further information.
Southampton A-buzz Parent Forum is for parents who live in Southampton City. Please visit www.sotonabuzz.org or email info@sotonabuzz.org to find out more information. You can also call 023 8023 0464 to speak to someone about this new service.
Funding from Together for Disabled Children under "Aiming High" helped to set this website up. Parent Voice is a Consortium of eleven Hampshire organisations who are working together to give parents of children with disabilities a way to speak up and get things moving.
in Control
in Control is helping to change the system of social care.
Through in Control, people will know what they are entitled to and be able to control their money and support as much as they want. This system is called Self-Directed Support.
For individuals, in Control will provide more choice. It means that the people who require support are at the heart of the process. Through in Control individuals will decide how best to use the support identified to meet their individual needs and objectives. There will be guidance for those who require help and assistance in making such decisions.
