Take-a-Break
This week 7th -14th March is national “Share the Care” Week which this year focuses on the BIG difference short break carers make to disabled children and their families.
Jan, whose son Harry has learning disabilities and stays with Take A Break Carer Caroline for a weekend a month says: “Its like a weight being lifted off our shoulders knowing Harry is happy, safe and having a good time with Caroline and her daughter. You don’t realise how hard things are with a child with special needs until you get a break. It's been brilliant for all of us.”
And Sam, mum of Charlie who has autism says Take A Break gives her family “time when we are free from our son’s constant anxiety about what is happening next. We have time to think and do things which are normally impossible”
